Losing a loved one can be one of the most difficult times a person can experience in his or her life. That’s why here at Personal Touch Printing, our main goal is to provide the best service for our clients so that they can honor their loved ones in the printed publications.

It is a common practice for families to memorialize their loved ones when they pass away. This tradition is mainly done to keep the memory of their loved ones alive and to show everyone how much they mean to them. Honoring a loved one is special as it allows you to celebrate your loved one’s memory when they were still alive. These are the different ways that you can honor a loved one who has passed.

Cook your loved one’s favorite meal or dessert – The sense of smell is important as it is closely tied to a person’s memory. That’s why when you smell something familiar, memories can come back to you as if they just happened yesterday. You can cook your loved ones’ favorite food or dessert.

This can help you remember your loved one so that you can be reminded of the great times you spent together. Even just smelling delicious meatloaf or baked apple pie can bring back the good old memories you had together in their kitchen.

Light a candle for your loved one – If your loved one has a favorite scent, you can buy or make a DIY candle that you can light up to honor their memory. You can light it up during special occasions so you can remember them. You can say a prayer or think about them every time you light up the candle. You can buy or create more candles and share them with your family and friends as a token to remember a loved one who passed on.

Have a funeral or wake for your loved one – Funerals and wakes are often held to celebrate and commemorate a loved one’s memory when they were still alive. You can request a program for your loved one’s funeral from Personal Touch Printing. There are different designs, styles, and sizes that you can choose from. This can be an invitation to give out to your relatives, friends, and loved ones so they will know where the service will be held.

Create a memorial space for your loved one in your home – You can dedicate a space in your home so you can honor your loved one who has passed on. You can place their photos in a picture frame and place a small plaque, or you can light a candle for them during a special occasion associated with them, such as their birthday or the anniversary of their death.

Loved One

Do your loved one’s favorite things – You can schedule a movie night and watch their favorite movie or TV shows. You can read their all-time favorite book, listen to their favorite artist, music, and albums. You can experience all these things so that you can know more about your loved ones and allow you to feel closer to them even when they are no longer with you.

Build a memorial bench beside your loved one’s burial site – You can ask the cemetery where your loved one is buried if they will allow you to place a memorial bench beside your loved one’s burial site. A memorial bench can be customized depending on the style, size, material and you can inscribe a special message on them. You can sit down and spend time and reflect on your loved ones whenever you visit them.

Keep a special item that they used to own – You can hold on to their favorite clothing or a piece of jewelry like a necklace, ring, or bracelet so that you can feel close to them even when they are no longer with you. If the ring doesn’t fit you, you can turn it into a necklace so you can wear or use it more often.

Donate to a charity – If your loved one used to help and volunteer in a charity, you can organize and donate to that specific charity to honor their name. If your loved one enjoyed volunteering in animal shelters or helping the homeless, you can donate a certain amount in their name to honor their memory.

Create a scrapbook or photo album of your loved one – You can gather photos and stories about your loved one so you can create a digital or paper tribute that commemorates your loved one’s life. You can use a leather-bound book or create a customized scrapbook that you can review and share it with your family members and friends.

Create a scholarship in your loved one’s name – If you have the necessary funds, you can put together a scholarship that focuses on what your loved ones used to be passionate about. You can help a student by funding their education. This will not only help someone who does not have the means to have a degree, but it will also honor your loved one’s memory.

Work on their unfinished projects – If your loved one who passed away loved to work on projects, you can consider working on them to finish them. You can try doing it yourself or hire someone to work on it. This can be done to honor their name and can be a great project that both of you worked on. Since they started the task and you have finished it, it can be an emotional moment that you worked on together.

Plant a tree – In memory of your loved one who has passed on who used to love gardening and plants, you can plant flowers, trees, rosebush, or vegetable gardens in their memory. You are not just helping the environment, but this can be a great reminder and a wonderful way to honor your loved ones who have passed.

Breathtaking photo shoots capturing unforgettable moments in time.

Celebrate their memory – You can put up a memorial website or social media account so your family, friends, and acquaintances can share their stories, photos, videos, and memories about your loved one who passed away.

Pick a special date so you can gather your friends, family members, and relatives to celebrate the  life and memory of your loved one. You can go to a restaurant, organize an event, or hold a mini party where you can honor your loved one who has passed.

Frame their poem, song, or recipe – If your loved one used to write poems, songs, or recipes, you can have them framed and placed in the living room so it will be something that you will be seeing all the time. You can consider placing a handwritten letter or anything special in a frame so you can always remember your loved one whenever you see it.

You can purchase frames, fill them up with photos and give them to your family members, friends, and relatives. You can also make a memorial wall to honor the memory of your loved one who has passed. If you need to print photos of your loved one, you can check out Personal Touch Printing.

Place a customized marker on their burial site – You can get a customized engraved marker so you can add it to your loved one’s burial site. Feel free to personalize it by placing a special message on it, or by adding their favorite color. Make sure to check with the cemetery if they have specific requirements for markers and what they allow so you can include them.

Hold a memorial service, life ceremony, or special vigil to honor your loved one – Aside from arranging a traditional funeral, you may also organize a special memorial service, life ceremony, or special vigil to honor your loved one’s life.

You can do this every year during the anniversary of their death or their birthday. By holding a special vigil for your loved one you can invite your family, friends, and acquaintances to join you so you can remember your loved one together.

Create an online memorial – You can create an online memorial site to pay tribute to your loved one. You can use photos, videos, and documents. You can also create a DVD of your loved one’s memories (photos and videos) so you can share them with everyone.
